Flower Essences For Animals

The following information is for educational purposes only. It should in no way be used in place of professional treatment.

Dr Edward Bach discovered flower Essences, in the early 1930's.  Since then, their use has become very popular with many people becoming familiar with "Rescue Remedy." Animals respond extremely well to flower essences and they can be used to help with many behavioral, emotional and physical conditions.

Physical health conditions often manifest from deeper emotional imbalances.  For example, a dog may develop skin problems after the arrival of a new baby or when a new animal enters the household.  Anxiety, jealousy, anger, loneliness, resentment & other stresses can affect animals just as these negative emotions can affect people, causing a number of health related conditions.  In cases like this is it necessary to work on the animal's emotional wellbeing, rather than just treating the physical symptoms. Remedies can be made up to suit the individual personality.

Behavioral problems such as biting and aggression may also benefit from flower essences.  It should be combined with appropriate training, but will assist during this time to modify the behavior.  A dog may show aggression due to fears or insecurity.

Flower essences can be used for animals that have been abused or abandoned in the past, helping to restore their trust and confidence. Separation anxiety, territorial spraying, urinating or defecating inside, and many other situations may benefit from the use of appropriate flower essences.
